It is not always clear to both riders and officials involved in accidents involving a third party, just how to deal with claims made against them.

In the absence of any other insurance policy the Cycling Time Trials Commercial Combined Policy provides, inter alia, an indemnity in the event of a claim against the Company in respect of any rider or riders in an event falling under our jurisdiction. It also covers event secretaries, timekeepers, marshals, observers and volunteer helpers used in any capacity required to make the event possible. Additionally the cover extends to members of the National Committee and its officers. District Committee members, officers, and their course measurers/designers whilst carrying their duties or otherwise undertaking the Company's business.

If a claim is made against a competitor or official, details of the claim should be forwarded to the National Secretary. If there is similar cover provided by any other policy such as may be included by membership of another cycling organisation, or a Personal Liability policy (normally as part of a Home Insurance Policy), details should also be sent to the appropriate office.

The limit of the Public and Products Liability is £10,000,000. This cover includes any claims regarding the use of buildings hired as event headquarters.
